Personal Statement

Throughout my time as a field hockey player, I have achieved many feats with skill, determination, and positivity. With my four complete years with Aim Field Hockey and being a captain on my scholastic teams, I have learned what it takes to achieve greatness through leadership and example. My ability to take control of a situation and lead a team with great composure and sense of community is what makes me different than all other recruits. My leadership tactics include leading my example with skill and attitude, instilling confidence within teammates, and holding teammates accountable to make them better players. When using these tactics, I have helped create a strong, bonded, and successful team that is ready to take on any challenge.

My aspirations and goals for my college career are to be a significant team member who positively contributes to the team with the skill and leadership that I can bring to an organization. I also want to have a positive impact on teammates on the field, but also in the classroom where I want to be successful in order to be ready for the road after college.

I believe that my academic and athletic achievements are due to my determination, self-motivation, hard work, and willingness to succeed for my team. My determination to succeed comes in forms where I always work hard during practice to become the best player I can be or that I run one extra lap or do one extra math problem or to review my notes one more time because I know that those small things will pay off in the long run. The determination that I have when being a student and an athlete are what make me different from every player because I will work the very hardest to be my best and encourage and work with my teammates to make a successful overall team.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
