Personal Statement

When I first picked up a stick two and a half years ago, I immediately knew field hockey would become a big part of my life. Ever since that day, I have been determined to grow to become the best field hockey player that I can be. With the help of several years of prior experience playing ice hockey, earning 2 state championship titles and all-state recognition, and in lacrosse, earning all-league title; field hockey started to come very natural to me. That being said I have also put in endless hours of training and practice to get where I am today. There have been a few bumps in the road as well, such as not having a local club team to play on, but this has not and will not stop me from achieving my goals. For example, I still was able to make the National Futures Champions and make All-State Teams twice in my three seasons of play.

One of my goals academically is to pursue a career in the medical field. I am particularly interested in orthopedics. To prepare for this, I have been taking high level classes such as AP Biology and Organic Chemistry, while still maintaining my 4.0 GPA. I plan to continue excelling in my courses throughout college.

As for field hockey, I hope to be part of a program that has determination and grit. I would love to be surrounded by players who are committed to improving every single day and coaches who are devoted to helping me grow and learn even more about the game. In this kind of environment, along with the help of coaches and peers, I am confident my field hockey skills will continue to excel at a rapid rate.

What sets me apart from many other athletes is my leadership skills, and my competitive edge and drive to succeed. While I have earned a spot as captain on my field hockey and ice hockey teams, I have always tried to be a leader on and off the field, regardless of my title. With my competitiveness and drive to succeed, I will not let anything hold me back from achieving my goals and I will never go down without a fight.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
