I set substantially high goals for myself. On and off the playing field, I try to go above and beyond what is expected of me. I always strive to do my best academically, while still managing a hectic athletic schedule. Attaining less than High Honor Roll every trimester is unacceptable. While maintaining my 3.9 GPA, I make sure that I have extra time to work on my game, including running, going down to the field to shoot and do dribbling drills, or any other excercise I can fit into the small gaps of free time I leave myself. From the first time I played field hockey in the Worcester Field Hockey League, I've dreamed of playing field hockey throughout high school and then on to college. Since I met Barbara Marois, who was the captain of the Auburn High School Field Hockey team when my mom played, the captain of the UNH Field Hockey team, and then the captain of the USA Olympic Field Hockey team, I've aspired to maybe one day play on the same fields as she did. Working during the off season plays a big part in my field hockey skills because it gives me that extra advantage over the teams we face. I hope one day that all the hard work I put into field hockey will pay off and I will fulfill my dream of bringing my game to the collegiate level.
