My freshmen year of high school I did not make the varsity team. I suited up and only got 1 inning the whole season. I was very disappointed but did not let it take my focus off of what I had to work on to accomplish my goal for the next season which was to make the varsity team and start every game. Throughout the off season I learned a new position (1st base), worked out and took a lot of cuts, and went to every open gym possible to increase my confidence in myself and my ability. My sophomore year season I started every game either at 1B or pitching, I received the Cy young award for our team, got second team all conference, and led our conference Champion team in lowest ERA and most wins and saves. I believe that I have the ability and leadership to make a team better and I won't stop until I have that skill and confidence.
