BILLY (William) McConnell '18 Recruiting Profile

My mantra of "WORK HARDER" and "NEVER GIVE UP" shows through every aspect of my life. I will be the FIRST on the field and the LAST to leave. I learn from my mistakes (either game or practice) and I WANT TO BE COACHED to improve. Despite being only 18 years old- I have seen the highs and lows of baseball. At 12 years old, I pitched a 1.8 ERA at CABA Little League World Series but, I was an ineffective batter. I worked the next 2 years at my batting skills; developing a more aggressive stance, quicker hands and a deeper knowledge of pitching angles and bat response. I now am a team leader for the offense. NOTHING EVER CAME EASY. As Derek Jeter said; "There may be people that have more talent than you, but there is NO EXCUSE for anyone to work harder than you do." I have overcome the diagnosis of Dyslexia in the classroom to become the Senior student I currently am with a current GPA of 3.4. NO EXCUSE-NOT GIVING UP and to be the HARDEST WORKER is what I can bring to your team and school. This type of DEDICATION TO IMPROVE can outweigh God given talent. I WANT TO LEARN EVERYTHING I can to be the best player and student possible.
