At the beginning of my high school career, I aspired to be on the varsity baseball team. I dedicated myself to practicing every day and working as hard as a freshman could. It is this work ethic that separates me from the average student athlete. Mid-way through the season I found myself at the plate for the first time in a varsity game. Due to my preparation, I delivered with a base hit. From that point on I have believed that I could do anything that I set my mind to. Fast forwarding a year later after my sophomore season was completed; I received a call from my head coach asking if I would like to take the role as a captain in the following years to come. I was honored and without hesitation accepted this role.
In the future, I wish to continue my career both in baseball and in the classroom, while earning my degree in the field of Human Performance. In regards to academic so far, I have taken honors classes and have done fairly well, although this last semester I challenged myself by taking three honors classes at once and found out that I had bitten off more than I could chew. I shifted my schedule around and have been receiving grades that I expect of myself. I hope to attend a school that is suitable for both my academic and athletic aspirations.
