I’m Cole Tyman from Elk Mound, WI. I am a Senior (Class of 2016) and 3-sport athlete (baseball, football, basketball) at Elk Mound High School.
Baseball has been my passion since I have been 4 years old. My love for the game continued to grow over the years with the help of my parents and my Uncle Jim White (Oshkosh American Legion Post 70 coach for 23 years). They gave me every opportunity possible to help me work on my skills and offered continued advice to improve me as a player.
From these opportunities, advice and hard work I have accomplished awards that I am very proud of:
Freshman Year -2013
Rookie of the Year --ONLY freshman to make the varsity team.
Sophomore Year - 2014
Most Valuable Player
1st Team All-Conference
Junior Year - 2015
Most Valuable Player
1st Team All-Conference
2nd Team All-District – Catcher (Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association)
Honorable Mention All-Area Catcher (Leader-Telegram)
My goal is to find a college that would best fulfill both my academic and baseball interests.
As a participant in the Elk Mound High School Community Service Fundraiser for the baseball and also basketball programs each year, I give back to the community by volunteering my time and knowledge by putting on baseball clinics to help improve the skills of the Elk Mound youth athletes and working at the youth basketball tournaments and teaching fundamentals and also developing their skills at various camps held at Elk Mound. In addition to supporting baseball and basketball at my school, I also enjoy being a coach for the Elk Mound Youth Flag Football Program. With having the opportunity to be involved in all three programs is a great way for me as an older athlete to connect with the younger and upcoming athletes at Elk Mound.
Role Model – as a younger athlete I remember what it meant to me to look up to the older athletes. Now that I am one of the older athletes I do my best to make good choices on and off the field as I know some are choosing to follow my lead. A try my best to lead by example as others are learning from the examples I lead.
As my time in high school passes and inches me closer to my college years, I understand the lessons I have learned over the years going from one sport to the other can help me with the next phase of my life -- Work hard, be dedicated to what I do and do it to the very best of my ability and always have confidence in my ability.
Thank you for your interest.
