Derek Van Pay '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Derek Van Pay and I am Senior at Denmark High School in Denmark, Wisconsin. I am a three sport athlete which makes me well rounded and dedicated to my team. In college, I aspire to get my degree in engineering as it fits my strong academic goals and background. In addition, I would like to pursue my lifelong dream to step on a college baseball field and positively contribute to the game. Some of my goals this year are acing my AP classes, carry my hard work from the offseason through to the baseball season, and lastly, be a great role model and leader on my team and in my community. I am a talented Right Handed Pitcher and I will contribute 110% to your program. I've been a key contributor on many traveling teams including an area all-star team for three years as well as a Midwest tournament team I was selected to play with in the summer of 2014. I was selected to be a contributing member of Team Wisconsin (Aug 2014) and I am currently playing with the WI All-Stars Baseball Team. In a nutshell, I have pitched highly competitively for many years and have excelled past many of my peers defying their doubts, by overcoming adversity, and through thousands of hours of work. I continue to work hard in both the on and off season with strengthening and conditioning to improve my pitching and overall play.
