Personal Statement
My most important attributes as a athlete are I'm a hard worker, fast, good hand-eye coordnation, relatively tall pitcher, with a strong and accurate arm. One of my most important accomplishments includes a 4-1 record as a sophmore on varsity in the very competive Fox Valley Association Conference (Wisconsin) . In addition I had a 1.97 ERA and had around 3 strikeouts for every walk. As a freshman on JV, I was 5-1 with a 3.37 ERA. In the summer of 2010, I played with the Appleton Babe Ruth 15 year old team. We were the State Champions and took 3rd in the Ohio Valley regional. I had an 8-1 record as a pitcher for that team, including a win in the State Championship game. One of most important assets as a baseball player is my experience, having played for 10 teams since 2004, and most of them were highly competitive and winning programs. I bring quiet leadership to a team, for I lead with example and not by my mouth. I am a player who gives a 110% every play, whether it would be diving for a close ball, covering 1st base when a ball is hit to the1st base side, or hustling out a pop fly just in case the fielder doesn't make the play. Finally, my competitiveness and drive to win fuels my game time performance. I have played for winning teams (mostly club) and I am used to coming out on top. I am very hard on myself, to make sure I can do everything in my power to win and help my team succeed. I would either like to go to school in the Midwest, East Coast or West Coast. I would like to go to a Midwestern school to be close to home or in a place similiar to Wisconsin. I would want to go to the West or East Coast for school to experience new places. My main desicion in choosing a college is academics. I would like to go to a school that has very high academics. I would like to go to a school in an urban or suburban setting, but besides that I am indifferent to the size of the college. I am looking at schools that are either NCAA DI, DII, DIII or NAIA. I am interested in subjects of social studies (history, geography, government, etc.) and communication arts (English, reading, writing, etc.). The majors that I am interested in are Law, Marketing/Advertising, Government, Broadcasting, and Journalism. My goals for college baseball are to play competitive baseball, play as a sophmore (hopefully being a 3 year starter), and be a player that can be trusted by the coach and his team.
Junior Year Update
I also wanted to inform you that I received a 4.0 GPA my second semester of my junior year, which results in me maintaining my ranking of 1 in the class. As soon as I receive my official transcript I will attach it. I have had a successful high school baseball career thus far, with my overall high school record being 11-3. This year, I pitched in the Fox Valley Association Conference, which was rated the best conference for baseball in Wisconsin. My conference record was 2-0 this year, and in addition I had 4 quality starts. I started both games against Appleton North, the preseason number 1 team in the state. I pitched into the 6th inning in both games, with the score tied. We would go on to eventually win one and lose one in extra innings. My only loss was a 6-5 game in the playoffs against Kimberly, who was ranked fourth in the state. Unfortunately, I missed several weeks of baseball this season due to an injury, but now I am fully recovered. Even though my innings were limited, I still was named honorable mention all conference this year as a pitcher.
GRB Rays Summer Season Update 2012
In the summer of 2012, I ended with a record of 3-0 with an ERA of 2.21. Highlights include a 4-2 win over the highly regarded Downers Grove (Chicago) Longshots and a combined no-hitter. The GRB Rays finished 9th out of 100 teams in the 18u National Championship tournament in Indianapolis. At the championship tournament, I pitched against the Oakland Reds, winning 9-1 with 0 earned runs. Also, I pitched two scoreless innings against the number one seeded Toronto Mets.
