I am looking to continue my education and my baseball career at a University that values academics like I do, and has a winning baseball tradition. I am leaning toward a degree in International Business because I have good business sense and a knack for learning languages. I will graduate in June of 2016.
While I can't tell you yet exactly where I'll be attending college, I can tell you exactly what the college I choose will get when they recruit me. Universities will get an elite student, currently ranked 35th in a class of 436, with an SAT score of 1960. The coaching staff will never have to wonder if I'll be academically eligible to play baseball because of my discipline and diligence as a student.
Athletically, I was elected by my teammates to be the Varsity Baseball Captain for my upcoming Senior season. I will not allow myself to be outworked by anyone. I arrive early and stay late at practices. I am driven to be the best catcher to hit the collegiate seen in 2016. I am 6' and weigh 165 lbs headed in to my senior year. I'm an agile and extremely quick Catcher behind the plate and am known for my ability to block balls in the dirt. My POP time is 1.95 but that will improve over the course of this coming year. I am in the weight room 4 times a week after school and am committed to getting stronger and faster. I run a 7.0 60 yard dash and am one Catcher that coaches don't 'courtesy run' for when I get on base. On my Select Summer team, I stole 47 bases in 25 games at the 16U level, and 34 bases this year at the 18U level. My On-Base % the past two Select seasons has been around .500, and because of that I usually bat lead off or in the two hole.
One of my strongest attributes is my leadership ability. I am always seen as one of the leaders on any team I play on, and I have learned to embrace that role. There are many different ways to lead, but I choose to lead by example and by encouragement. Though I'm not shy to challenge a teammate to do better, I always follow it up with a strong word of encouragement for them as well. Afterall, they are my teammate, and teammates are a sort of family, and where I come from, families stick together. I am a man of my word that can be counted on to do what it is I say I will do. I am looking forward to contributing from day 1, to the baseball program of my chosen University.
