My collegiate goals consist of playing college baseball and working toward a degree that will benefit my future. I am typically a "future" thinker, or in other words I base my decisions on what will put me in the most ideal spot 10 years down the road. My post-college goals consist of obtaining a job as a High School Math Teacher, buying a house for my future family, and possibly becoming a baseball coach down the road. A few people who have inspired me to have these future goals are my High School baseball coach Doug Engstrom ([email protected]) as well as my High School math teacher that I was fortunate enough to be with all 4 years, Mark Neuman ([email protected]).
I believe I am a perfect candidate for any College Baseball team as not only am I an incredibly insightful individual and natural leader, but I also possess great talent in the sport of Baseball, including exceptional outfield range, speed, and knowledge. Along with being a great outfielder, I am also a threat at the plate, as seen by my .397 Batting Average through the 22 games of my Junior year in High School. To top it off, I am a key pitcher to the GFHS baseball program. As a Junior, I received the Second Team All-Conference award as a pitcher and was a major reason why we made the District playoffs in 2016.
Academic wise, I have always excelled. As of now, I am at the top of my class in many subjects, but my greatest talent is in math. As a Freshman in High School, I revealed my natural mathematical ability, and have continued the trend throughout all 4 years of High School. I am currently at the top of my AP Calculus class, and plan to take more math classes in College. But math is not the only area in which I am educationally inclined. As seen by my SAT test scores, I scored a 670 on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section, which puts me among the top in my class. To finish the explanation of my academic knowledge, I again would like to point to my SAT scores. The valedictorian of our 2017 Class at Granite Falls High School received a maximum SAT score of only 1220 after 3 attempts. In comparison, I scored a 1300 on my first attempt without studying. This alone proves that the knowledge that I possess is above average.
