Nathan Matice '15 Recruiting Profile

    I believe that I am a dedicated and hardworking athlete.  I am focused and driven with my goals in mind.  I have always dreamed about playing baseball in college and I aspire to play baseball as a career.  I will work hard to make sure that I am on the correct path to make that dream come true.  I consider myself a strong student athlete, I recently finished my Sophomore year with a 3.65 GPA; which included several Pre-AP and AP classes.  I plan on taking my SAT's and ACT's this upcoming fall.  I also am taking AP science, literature, Trigonometry, and US History in my Junior year.  

   This past summer I played for the 16U and 17U Virginia Renegades Travel Baseball team.  We have played in several showcases throughout the state as well as neighboring states.  This summer I played a key role in several games, coming in to close on two separate occasions.  The first opportunity I had was to close the game; I faced a total of six batters and allowed no earned runs, not hits and struck out three batters.The second game that I came into pitch was during a tie game and helped my team win the ball game facing only 7 batters in 2 innings and allowing one hit, no walks and 2 strikeouts.  I have pitched a total of 29 innings this season and have struck out 23 batters.  This win allowed my team to win a spot in the semifinals of the tournament.  I am a line drive hitter, who is not afraid to lay down a bunt; I currently have a .300 on the 16U Renegades and I lead the 17U team with a .429.

I also play baseball for the Under Armour Baseball Factory and will be participating in the Christmas Classic this upcoming December in Pirate City, Florida.  I also wrestle in the off season for my High School; I am the varsity team captain and finished the year with a 34-7 record.
