Colin Powers '13 Recruiting Profile

Playing baseball in college has always been a dream, but I used to think it was a longshot. However, when I got on my high school baseball team I was fortunate enough to have coaches and teammates to push my abilities and make that dream a distinct possibility. Although it was not easy playing on the varsity team as a freshman, I was determined to get on the playing field any way I could. Thus, I developed my ability to play many different positions, from outfield to the corners, to starting pitching and catching. I eventually became my coaches’ “go to guy” and on my junior year I was moved up to the four hole. While graduating from college is one of my main goals, I still have a strong desire to play baseball and would like to continue doing so while I still can. I am now coming up on my senior season of baseball and will be a primary starting pitcher and first baseman. I hope to continue my role in four hole and have set a goal to be hitting at least 400 for the season. At this point time I am undecided as to what my major will be. However, I am interested in both a communications degree and a graphic design degree and plan on investigating those further.
