My name is Spenser Shillam, I'm a 6'4" 220 lb RHP/1B. My goals are to play baseball in college and major in criminal justice/law enforcement with the goal of becoming a game warden. What makes me a good candidate - is that I know and love the game of baseball. I have been around the game from birth. My dad has been a high school football/baseball coach for 20+ years.
I have developed character and leadership through my Christian faith. By trying to live a life pleasing to the Lord, I have become a leader on and off the field. I have also served in children's ministry for many years, and I participate in FCA at school.
I have attended many camps this summer and was selected as a top qb at the Bill Maskill Sr. Elite camp at Midwestern State University. I was also a top camper at the Brian Young football camp in El Paso where I was coached by former NFL OC, Dave Atkins. I was named 2nd Team All District Punter and Special Teams player of the year for our team.
I realize that I do not have any film, however, there is a big upside in that I have yet to peak and will work hard to compete and make it worth your time to have me in your program. I want to be the best that I can be for the team and whatever it is you want done I'll do it. If you need a 1B, RF, 3B, DH I can do that. Athletically speaking I have only played varsity for one year. Academically I have had my struggles, however I am working hard to get better grades and be more successful in the classroom.
I graduated in June 2015 and am currently a freshman at North Lake College in Irving, TX. My coach has me as a PO and is not sure if I will be a starter, middle relief or closer yet. I am sitting at 90-92 mph and have hit 95, last spring I only threw 88. I have a fastball, curve, slider and change, all with movement and varying velocity.
I promise to respond to any coach that contacts me.
