Osvaldo Martinez '15 Recruiting Profile

Welcome and thank you for visiting my recruiting page. My full name is Osvaldo Miguel Martinez; I am a 5' 9" Catcher for Austin High School in El Paso, Texas. I've been playing baseball ever since the age of 2 and have been playing ever since. It has been a passion of mine ever since I first started playing.  I have had my struggles with it at times but it has made me realize that the only way to get better is by working harder. The hard work I put it has also taught me that dedication and determination payoff. I will offer this same dedication and determination to your school. Along with the dedication and determination I also bring my role as a team member and I'm also willing to standup and be a leader, both on and off the field.

  I am hoping to use my talent and passion for baseball to help me get into your school. My college education is something that means the world to me. I know that education has the potential of opening doors for my future but I also want to set an example to my 3 younger siblings. I am the oldest out of 4 children. Currently all of my core classes are either Pre AP or AP and although at times they maybe hard, I tackle them with the same determination that I do baseball. My hard work in the classroom has paid off because I have always earn A's and B's. Whatever school I end up attending needs to offer a good education followed by a good sports program.

   I have earned several awards playing baseball. These awards were not only earned during the regular season but also earned at different camps and clinics that I have attended over the years. Some of these awards include: 2nd Team All-District, Honorable Mention, Most Team-Spirited, Hardest Working, and Most Dedicated. I currently am the starting catcher, but I'm willing to learn and play whatever position my coaches think I should play.

  Being able to play college baseball would mean the world to me because it has always been my dream to go on to the next level doing the thing that I love the most, which is play ball.
