Austin Blanford '16 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goals are to attain a University where I would like to study Kinesiology where I could develop into an Athletic Trainer or pursue the opportunities with Arrosti Physical Therapy. I would like to attend a school where I can utilize my skills and talents on the baseball field to pursue my love and dreams of being a professional ball player while at the same time furthering my education and preparing myself for life. I would be a good candidate for your team because I am true team player, I have a passion for the game and work ethic that is second to none. I strive to be the best I can be in my position and always willing to give a helping hand to my teammate in anyway to make them a better player for themselves and the team. Presently I am a Junior at Boerne Champion High School with a 3.85 avg GPA. In addition to playing baseball for my high school, I participate on the Track Team at the same time. I particpate in the 200 meter and run the 3rd leg for our 4 x 400 team. Presently my best time is a 51 sec 1/4 mile but I hope to improve that to 48-49 before the season is over. This Summer I will continue to work on my game by playing on my Select Baseball Team where we will participate in Showcase Tournaments throughout the state. In closing, during my time away from the field this Summer, I plan on volunteering at the local Fire Dept. in either Bergheim or Boerne, Texas to help support my community.
