My name is Koy Harris and I just finished my Junior year at Anna High School. I have been a starting varsity pitcher for Coach Joey Hector three years now. My freshman year I pitched and played third base and our team made it to the Bi-District round. My sophomore year I pitched and played third base and was selected 2nd Team All District Pitcher as well as Academic All District. This year I pitched and played first base and was named 1st All District Pitcher, Academic All District, and received a Honorable Mention for pitching on the All Texomaland Baseball Team selection. This summer will be my second year to play with Coach Gary Jackson on North Texas Pride where I play multiple positions (outfield, 3rd, and 1st) and am the starting pitcher for bracket play.
Academically I am in all Honors/AP/Dual Credit college courses at my high school. I have been awarded the Academic All District all my years in baseball and two years that I have played varsity football. No matter what division college, I will work hard. This process is not just about playing baseball, I also want to go to college to get a higher education so I can better myself for later in life. Going to college will mean that I will be the first in my family to go straight out of high school. Now that does not mean I will be completely satisfied with playing in college and getting my education, I of course want to try and go as far as possible with baseball as I can. I dream of playing ball professionally and becoming an inspiration to young ball players like Michael Young, Pudge Rodriguez, and Mark McGwire were to me.
I am the kind of baseball player that not only wants to better himself, but the team as well. I always chatter on the field encouragement to my teammates and reinforcing the team as a whole because I know making the team better will also make me better. I am very coachable, I listen to instruction well and try to apply everything I am told. I hold the utmost respect for my coaches and teammates. My parents are also a big part of my baseball attitude and career. They always encourage me to be a better person, ball player, teammate and assist me as much as possible. I know they have played a big part in my success on and off the field.
