~~ I am a 5’6’’ catcher from Johnson City, Tennessee. I am a junior at Science Hill High School, I have always had a passion for the game of baseball and to play at the collegiate level ever since I picked up a bat and joined a tee-ball team at the age of four.
In Jan. 2014, I participated in the Baseball Factory All-American Pre-Season Rookie Tournament in Auburndale, FL. While there, I was chosen as one of the Top 10 Performances in the tournament. During the fall of 2014 I played in numerous Perfect Game tournaments with my Summer/fall team, 17U Upstate Mavericks, of which we were the 17U PG Elite Underclass Champions. In December 2014, I was invited and attended the Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City.
Currently, my pop time is 1.95. I get rid of the ball quickly, have a clean transfer and exchange, and know that with time my pop time will improve as I build more arm strength. My receiving and blocking skills are tools that I play well. At the plate, I have above average setup, quick hands, open stance, and strong balance. I work to keep my hands inside the ball and utilize all fields through a solid line drive approach.
Behind the plate, I take control of the game by calling the pitches by evaluating the pitcher’s strengths and weaknesses, and will work to motivate a struggling pitcher. I also take into consideration the batter’s stance and demeanor. I always survey the field for players positioning.
I am most interested in attending colleges in the Central and South-East regions of the United States.I am an above average student with a 4.0 GPA. I have taken several honors classes and will continue taking them during my Junior and Senior year. My interests are in Engineering and medicine, so with my continued classes in high school, that will help me to determine which major I will acquire.
