Athletics has affected my life positively by teaching me the importance of staying mentally and physically healthy.  It’s shown me the significance of being a good role model and team player and has also equipped me with a positive attitude and a belief in myself.  These things are vital qualities in an athlete.

I’ve learned through my years of playing baseball that your mental strength is just as important as your physical prowess.  You need the agility and strength from your body to play sports.  Although, no matter how tired or drained you are, it’s your passion that forces you to go on.   In other words, your body only pushes forward when your mind urges it to go.

College is an important next step in my process to becoming the best person that I can become.  Having the honor of playing collegiate baseball and perhaps professional baseball would be a dream come true.  It would offer me a chance to become what I have wanted all my life.  This has been my dream since before I can remember and becoming a student athlete at the college level provides me with an opportunity to follow that dream. 

College will provide great options for my future and earning a scholarship can lead my path to success.  Whether learning to manage my earnings from my professional baseball career or studying to engineer the next great athletic shoe, college is the path to turning my dreams into realities. The chance to fulfill those dreams would be awesome!
