In my opinion, I feel that I can be an asset to your program in several ways. First, I am a leader on and off the field and this can be seen from the several roles that I fill both in and out of sports. I am on leadership with FFA at Phoenix High and am currently the Reporter for our chapter. I am also in leadership with the local youth center that is run by Youth For Christ/Campus Life as well as within my church’s youth group.
Second I am a leader on the field. I strive to improve in all that I do and my attitude is not one that is centered on me but on bettering the team. My workouts are constant and I have been told that I am very coachable in all manners. I take advice well and put it to practice as well as help my fellow teammates.
In school my goals are to learn as much as possible and to improve on my weaknesses. I began my high school time with a 3.7 GPA and became a bit complacent and allowed it to fall to a 2.9, which I have since improved it back to a 3.2. My goal this year is to improve my GPA to a 3.5 or better.
My college aspirations include playing as a starting catcher for whichever college I do go to. I hope to continue to improve in all aspects of the game; that including batting average, pop time, I have been going to the gym and working out on my own four days a week and soon will be starting a personal workout session with the head baseball coach at my high school. I feel that working to better myself in the off-season is going to be the key to my success in the future.
