Britton Yoder '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Britton Yoder. I am currently a junior in high school and turned 16 on august 20th. I was born and raised in Bakersfield, California for the first 13 and a half years of my life. I moved to Oklahoma at the end of the first semester of 8th grade. I've always been fairly straightforward on my goals: get to college, get a great degree, and get to the MLB. I thought it was so simple for most of my time in California until people started doubting me and I had to go through adversity, an I now realize that it takes hard work and keeping my eyes on the goal at hand, blocking out all the hype and hate. Academically, I've always been fairly successful. I'm looking to major in anything that has to do with mathematics: business, engineering, or even just being a mathematician. I'm on track to enroll in concurrent math classes by the end of my senior year, and complete at least the following classes: Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics. I have a simple mindset: Get there, make no excuses, and keep your eyes on God in the process. I hope to be set apart from other athletes because of my faith in God and bring my teammates to success through the same faith. My dream, like most young kids, was to become an MLB ballplayer. However, I look to be one of those special ballplayers who keep the dream alive and work to give every team I play on major success, which is key to acheiving my goals.
