Ryan Gallaccio '17 Recruiting Profile

First and foremost, as a student athlete, my primary collegiate goal is to find a school that is the perfect fit for me academically and, only then, one that allows my participation in that school’s baseball program.  After all, and as the name implies, an individual’s priorities should always be that of a student first and an athlete second.  I fully realize that my days playing competitive baseball may one day come to an end; however, the college education that I receive will guide me through life and stay with me forever. 

I believe that when given the opportunity, interested schools will find that I stand out as an exceptional candidate to represent their institution due to the fact that I am extremely goal driven and simply will not quit until I reach the goal I have set.  Up to this point in my life, I have been known by my family, my friends, my teachers and my coaches as someone who is extremely competitive and one who is never satisfied with “second place.”  In the terms of my academics, it means that I never settle and always strive to improve.  From an athletic standpoint, it is one of the characteristics that separates me from other players both on the field and off.  I refuse to accept that any ambition is out of reach and will do whatever it takes to make sure that the effort I put forth leaves nothing behind.
