Christian Pillitteri '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Christian Pillitteri; I am 5'8" and weigh 145 pounds. I have been playing baseball my whole life and have no intention on stopping any time soon. Baseball has taught me many life skills throughout my years of playing. Most importantly, I learned, to always give 100% even when times get difficult. This strategy has gotten me through many challenging situations over the years. Most recently, my family relocated from Maine to Long Island, and I found that the academics and sports were much more difficult in my new school. At first I was overwhelmed in my new environment, but I dug deep inside and motivated my self to work hard and not give up. Which led me to starting on all 3 of my JV sports (football, basketball, and baseball) and making honor roll at my new school.

Early in my baseball career I was a 1st baseman. After many years successfully playing that position, my middle school coach noticed my speed, flexibility, and agility and decidedly moved me to the position of center field. This has been my primary position for the past three years. Many different coaches have complemented me on how I take charge in the outfield, and my leadership skills on and off the field. As an outfielder my reaction timing has gotten significantly better which allowed me to lead my JV team in stolen bases, a total of 24 in 14 games this past year.

Regarding school size, I am keeping all options open; I think I can farewell in any type of environment because I'm personable, adaptable, and social. Geographically, I would like to stay on the east coast considering all my family is located here, and that I'm from Long Island, New York. But that location preference is not set in stone, because I will choose the college that best suits my needs.
