I started playing baseball when I was 7 years old. I pitched my first game on my 8th birthday and I never looked back. I fell in love with the game and have pursued my talents ever since. I joined my first travel team at 9 years old, playing for the 11U South Jersey Iron Pigs. I have continued to play spring, summer and fall ball with this team as the starting center fielder, pitcher and lead off batter.
As a freshman, I set a goal for myself to play Varsity as a freshman. My coach told us that he did not anticipate any freshman to make the Varsity team. This pushed me even more. I started the season as the starting JV pitcher and lead off batter. Within 3 weeks, I was asked to spot play for Varsity. After my first two Varsity games I was officially rostered as a Varsity player and became the starting center fielder. The team successfully went to the 2nd round of state playoffs last year. At the end of the season, I was the only freshman to earn a Varsity letter.
As the youngest player on the team, the upper classman were impressed with my skill level. I was not one to expect a roster spot, but rather earn it. My teammates respected that. I have always played with my heart for the love of the game and always will. I know to excel on the field I have to also push myself off the field. I work hard in school so that I have the time to train and play baseball.
I want to pursue a career in sports management. Sports is my passion and my life revolves around sports so I would love to work in the sports industry the rest of my life. I will continue to work hard to accomplish my goals. I am VERY goal oriented. I set them and do not back down until I accomplish them.
