Leader. Team player. Coachable. Hustles. Gives 100%.
These are words that have often been spoken about me by my coaches describing me as a player and I guarantee you this is what you will get from me if I play for you and your team.
I come to every game and practice with a high level of enthusiasm, passion and readiness with 'team first' attitude. I'm always looking for ways to improve my skills as a ballplayer, and I will always reach out to my coaches for guidance on how to perfect a certain aspect of my game. Although pitching is my primary position, I am capable and willing to play any position where I am needed. Because of these qualities, I am seen as a leader among my peers on and off the field.
In the Spring of my Sophomore Year I attended the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach with my high school for a Spring tournament where I solidified a spot on the Varsity team. For me, a spot on the Varsity roster was an honor and a position I would not take for granted. The season started off slow with my team going 0-6 and I was 0-2. It was my turn in the rotation against a team we knew we should beat. I was determined to turn it around for the team. That game was my first win as a Varsity player and it felt great. My team ended the season 16-11, making it to the State Tournament where I had my most significant win of the season, leading my team as the #12 seed to the State Sectional finals by pitching a complete game shutout against the #1 seed with 8 K's and 3 hits, winning 3-0. As a Sophomore, I lead the pitching staff in innings pitched, strikeouts, and had the lowest ERA as well as the highest batting average at .429 with 5 doubles and 10 RBI's.
Now in my Junior Year I am unsure as to where I want to attend college or what my major will be. However, I am sure I want to play baseball. I will be looking for a school with high academics as well as a strong baseball program that is appreciated by the student body.
