At the end of my collegiate career, I hope to have graduated with a degree that I am excited about from a college that I loved playing baseball for. My goal is to leave college knowing I gave everything I had both on and off the field.
I was fortunate to be the only freshman on both varsity and JV's roster my freshman year Our school won the league title. Between my freshman and sophomore year, I starting on the American Legion Gold team. My teammates and opponents were as old as 19. I have gained valuable experience playing against and learning from players who are older than me.
I started every game as a sophomore at second base and pitched as well. We were a playoff team. I continued to play second over the summer playing for my school's legion team. I also started to pitch and had a 7-0 record with a 1.41 era. I had a great defense behind me. We were Gold Division Nevada State Champions. Over the fall I played scout ball with the Las Vegas Cardinals playing shortstop and pitching.
I am currently in my junior year and playing SS and hitting 4th in the lineup. I started off the season a little cold but I adjusted my mechanics and have been hitting well the second part of the season. I have been placed in the closer role with most of my appearances coming in difficult situations.
I grew up playing baseball, football and basketball. I was the starting QB as a freshman. I believe playing multiple sports growing up has helped with my athleticism, which helps contribute to my baseball success. I have decided to concentrate on my true love, playing baseball.
I am young for my grade, my Dad gave me the option of repeating 8th grade prior to my freshman year. I wanted to compete against better baseball players not take the easier road. I hope that shows you what kind of person I am. I promise any coach I play for I will try and get better everyday by working hard and being coachable.
