Personal Statement

Dear Coach,

First off, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to look at my profile.  I hope I am a great match for your school.

My name is Jaxson Simmerman and I am a 2020 graduate catcher who attends Seward High School in Seward, NE.  I am a volunteer for events in FBLA, FFA, and other local community activities.  I am also currently the PA Announcer for our High School Softball team. I strive hard to be a person with great character.  I will do anything I need to do in my power to succeed not only in the classroom but also on the field.  In the classroom, I receive all A's and complete my homework on time, along with participating in class discussions.  I will be taking an AP Human Geography class in the Second Semester of our school year.  I would like to major in Business with an emphasis in something to do with Sports.

On the field, I work hard everyday of the year to better myself as a baseball player, whether it's in the weight room, in the batting cage, or on the field.  I also improve myself on being an overall athlete.  I am a contact hitter who can make contact in any count, along with showing signs of power.  I will also get on base, as this past summer I walked 60 times.  I am very disciplined at the plate. Behind the plate, I have a strong throwing arm. I block and receive well.  I feel catching is the best asset of my game.  I will do anything to make my pitchers better, along with the whole team.  I have taught myself how to catch mostly, other than going to one camp.  I have great leadership and communication skills that will set me apart from other catcher prospects.

I am looking to make myself the best baseball player I can be and whatever level I am a good fit for, I hope to open opportunities to play.

Again, I thank you for taking this time to look at my profile and I look forward to communicating with you in the future.  My contact information is below.

Sincerely,

Jaxson Simmerman
