James Overkamp '18 Recruiting Profile

Having grown up playing baseball in an education centered home, one of the things I have learned is that both are equally important in becoming the best person I can be in the classroom, on the ball field and in my life beyond high school and college.  Playing college baseball is the next step in my athletic journey, but attaining a degree from a solid academic institution is a must in that journey.  Dedication in the class room, weight room, and ball field have prepared me to contribute wherever needed in a successful baseball program as well as an academic institution.  My dedication and leadership will enable me to develop as a student, player, and team mate, but also help those around me push themselves to  achieve their goals.  Hard work, dedication, team focus, competitive fire and selflessness are the core values that I will bring to the program.  I look forward to being part of a great college program both in the class room and on the field.  If I could sum it up, excellence is what I demand from myself and inspire in others in everything I do.  Championships follow.
