Playing sports growing up has always influenced my decision to pursue extra-cirriculars. The thought that actually one day be able to play college baseball has always been my goal, ever since adolescence. Being one of the smaller kids growing up, I always learned that the way to the top would be hard work and discipline. Getting in the cages and throwing outside with my dad showed me that I wanted to become a collegiate baseball player one day. As I progressed as a baseball player, I learned that playing outfield and second base were my favorite two positions. Sophomore year the varsity coach called me up and asked me to catch for him, happily and successfully I made the switch, starting for the rest of the year. From then on I have played almost every position, with the exception of first base, and excelled in doing so.
Off the field I enjoy cohosting a radio show with a fellow teammate about sports, helping out the youth in my high school through a mentorship program, being a member at my schools National Honor Society, as well as mowing greens and fairways in the waking hours of the mornings at a local golf course. I am looking for a college that will help me take advantage of my on the field skills as well as my off the field skills. I don't know what specifically I am going to major in, but, I would like to one day become a surgeon.
