Sawyer Grow '13 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Sawyer Grow. I am currently a 6'6", 200lbs junior attending Principia  School in St. Louis, MO. Until moving to Missouri in 2011 I had  spent my entire life overseas. I was born in Kamakura, Japan and lived there for 9 years, then moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for my father's business. I have been in Malaysia for the past seven academic school years, so this is currenty my first school year in the United States.

I play baseball and basketball, but baseball is my passion. In Malaysia I played on a international travelling baseball team which mainly consisted of other Americans and foreigners who attended the other international schools in the city. This team was basically a group of the best of the best baseball players in Malaysia. We would play the Japanese School of Kuala Lumpur and Dalat International School oh Penang regularly and then we would travel to Singapore and Indonesia to play in tournaments which had teams from Japan, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, and Philippines. I got many opportunities to play with, and against, some of the best players in Asia. 

I can bring leadership to any team because I have experience as being a captain and co-captain of several teams. I also can bring diversity to a team because of the diverse life I have lived overseas. I am looking for a D1 or D2 college with a solid baseball program but not overwhelming in terms of enrollment (less than 8,000 students) in a suburban area. I am open to almost all schools. 
My goal is to play as a starter as a freshman at the highest level of competition I am capable of, and to become a team leader from the beginning.
