My goals and aspirations are to go to college, play college baseball, and study biomedical engineering. I am a good team candidate because I'm hardworking, humble, I listen to coaches, I'm a real team player, and I am confident in my skills. I've learned that confidence and humility are not polar opposites, so while I believe strongly in my own abilities I keep my ego in check and I always support my teammates by cheering them on, offering them encouragement, and learning from their successes.
I’ve participated in both club and school based teams and I’ve learned the game from many angles. One year a muscle tear kept me on the bench for several weeks, instead of feeling discouraged or bored, I developed some leadership skills. I learned score keeping and I learned how the coaches organized the team. After that, I helped the coaches whenever I wasn’t on the field. During playoffs one season, one of our coaches was out due to illness, and I rotated between playing 3rd base and coaching 1st base so that our team still had the support we needed for the game.
The bottom line is that I’m a good addition to your team because I’m flexible, I take initiative, and I can adapt quickly. While 3rd base is my usual position, I’m equally comfortable in the outfield or middle infield. Put me where you need me and I’ll deliver. I just love all aspects of baseball and I work to learn everything I can.
