Personal Statement

My personal goal as a student athlete is to play baseball at a very competitive level while getting a valuable education.  It has always been my dream to play ball beyond high school. My best season so far was the summer of 2016, where I lead my team in batting average and took control of the game from behind the plate. I had 89 put outs during the 33 games that summer. I have played on a very competitive high school team the past couple years and have continued to learn new things about the game. On the field, I react with quickness and I trust my instincts. I give 100% on the field and in the classroom everyday. Lastly, I understand that academics always comes first. As a junior at Stevenson High School, I am a member of the National Honor Society and hold a GPA of 3.8.

  • Mitch's summer with our Connect team. I'm sure like you, it was tough to put him behind the plate. He runs so well and more importantly he runs things down so well. When he did catch he was very effective and we hope to have him back next summer where he will be doing more catching and playing the outfield. For our Connect Team, we have a very good stat keeper. He put together some information on Mitch. Mitch led the team in batting average. He was second in OBP He was tied for second in hits He was second in RBI’s He had a fielding percentage of .971 33 for 34 (mainly as an outfielder) As a "leadoff" batter he was 9 for 16 (.563) which led the team. He wasn't our first hitter but when he was up first in an inning. There are strong percentages that when a lead off guy gets on, he usually scores. We rated Quality At Bats and he was 37 for 66 QAB's (.561) second on the team He saw an average of 3.76 pitches per at bat Thanks, Mark Sackett Michigan Red Sox, Inc Michigan College Connect Associate Scout, Cleveland Indians 248.930.0388

  • Mitch had an excellent summer of 2016 behind the plate and in the batter's box. He blocked extremely well and his framing of pitches was very good too. Mitch has good swing mechanics, knowledge of the strike zone, and attacks pitches he wants to hit. Mitch can hit to all fields and is a good situational hitter. He will only get better over the next couple of seasons as he continues to work hard. Mitch has good speed for a catcher and is a good base runner. I really like how he runs every ball out. College coaches notice that type of mentality. Mitch takes extra bases when he can. As good as his baseball skills are, his intangibles may be even better. Mitch is a coach on the field. He baseball IQ is very high. He understands bunt coverages, how to direct infielders on relay and cuts, and when to go out and try to calm pitchers down. Having Mitch on the field is like having a coach out there. Many times he was already telling the infielders what I wanted them to know about a situation. Mitch was a pleasure to coach this summer and he will be good college baseball player. Jeff Hall 16u Head Coach Oakland Bulldogs Adams High School Varsity Head Coach

  • Mitchell is a strong-armed catcher with great makeup. His mechanics are about as good as it gets for a catcher of this age. Mitchell shows excellent desire and aptitude. He's a very positive person with a lot of energy. He has unlimited potential due to both his catching ability and his attitude. David Fox Eisenhower H.S. Varsity Baseball Coach
