I want to be the best in everything I do-- in academics and in baseball-- and I pledge to work hard to achieve success in both fields. I plan to earn a 3.0 or better GPA in college, focusing on business administration, as well as I plan to dedicate the time my after studies to refining my baseball skills to prepare me for a professional baseball career. In my philosophy class this year, I learned the Latin Motto: “A sound mind in a sound body.” This will be the motto I will use to frame my academic and athletic goals. This is what separates me from the other candidates: I realize that a professional sports career is difficult to attain, so I am preparing myself for the days after baseball while enjoying my current time (and for the next twenty or so years, if possible) with the game I love.
