Hello, my name is Brodie Altiere and I am born and raised in North Adams which is located in the upper left corner of Massachusetts a few minutes from the New York and Vermont borders. I am 5'11 and weigh in at 155 lbs. When I am on the baseball field, you can find me on the mound, shortstop or 3rd base. This season I was fortunate enough to be 1 of 2 sophomores to play full time varsity where I won a spot in the starting rotation and started games on the left side of the diamond. I have also been the varsity quarterback since 9th grade which was the year our team won its 3rd super bowl in a row. That experience has given me the responsibility of learning how to lead a team. Baseball in our area of the state is very challenging since our seasons are so short and in order to train, you must travel. This can be quite difficult to do when trying to juggle school and, for me, a part-time job. Last year, Rob Livingstone who runs Livingstone Speed Academy, opened a sports facility called Cages at the Mill which offers baseball training year round. I gave up playing basketball during the winter in order to take advantage of the training opportunities at the Cages to improve my baseball skills. This past summer, I played with our local travel team, the Berkshire Americans in the Eastern New York Youth Travel Baseball league. During the season I played on the 16U team with games in New York and Mass during the week and on the weekend. In August, our team traveled to the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, SC. to play a week long tournament in the 17U division. I remained in Myrtle Beach for a second week and played in the 19U tournament with our Berkshire Americans 18U team. I was able to move myself up to the second spot in the batting rotation during that tournament in addition to being able to pitch quite a few games, as well. I have also been lucky enough to play baseball at the Dan Duquette Sports Academy located in Hinsdale, MA in different tournaments and this past summer, to be able to help coach their 16U team, as well as, work at the facility in other capacities. I will be back at Duquette’s again this summer and look forward to doing some more coaching, which is something I hope to do after college. My goals are to keep improving my academics and my skills on the baseball field, so I can become a contender for an opportunity to play college baseball. If you would like to contact me, my email is [email protected] and my phone number is 413-652-3423.
