Hello coaches,
My name is Stephen Quigley. I am a Junior at Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston, Massachusetts and I play Shortstop and switch hit.
After high school, I would love to continue my academic and athletic career at a 4 year university to play baseball. Throughout my playing years, I have played with some of the best competition in the state, from the Gatorade Players of the Year to players that have played in Spring Training for major league teams. Ever since I was young I've always dreamt of playing Division 1 baseball, and now, I feel as though I can compete at any college level. I am a 3 year varsity player and a 2 year starter here at Silver Lake, which has one of the best Division 1 baseball programs in the state.
The reason that I am a great candidate for any college team is my work ethic and leadership, not just on the field but in the classroom as well. I have maintained a 4.0+ GPA throughout my first 3 years of High School, making the Honor Roll all but 1 term since 7th grade when I received a C+ in AP Biology. However, I was able to bounce back and get an A- and an A in the following terms which shows my resilience and hard work.
The thing that really sets me apart from other recruits is the trust any coach or player can have for me. Whether it is about making good decisions or making the toughest plays in the field, I'd consider myself a very trustworthy person. Any coach can trust that I will always put in the work to get better every day and give 110% at everything I do. Also, I believe true leadership is one thing that many coaches struggle to find nowadays, but I consider myself a great leader in terms of setting a good example and being able to control a team from shortstop. Lastly, I believe my academics also sets me apart from most other recruits. I have been able to maintain a 4.0+ GPA in high school while playing a sport that I train year round for, and I have been able to maintain a great social life as well. My SAT score of a 1270 is considered above average, but I know I can still score higher. I'm also member of the National Honor Society at Silver Lake.
