I am a rising Senior at Georgetown High. I was cut from the St. John's Prep team and transferred this spring to Georgetown. I was not eligible to play this spring, but I did not get down or take time off. I became the student manager of the varsity team and practiced every day with the team and was a supportive teammate and assisted the coaching staff every way I could. I kept my workout routine for strength and conditioning and got ready for summer ball. I have become a power hitter with high average. At the Legends 18U wood bat tournament July 9, 2016 went 4-6 with a HR, double, 2 singles, 3 RBI and a run scored. I tried out for and was selected for the July 2016 Bay State Games. I went 1-3 with a double, RBI, and run scored and was on the Gold Medal Winning Northeast Team. I am attending showcases and performing well. I am ranked in the top 5 catchers in New England in the Prep Baseball Report for pop time (2.00) and exit velocity (88). I have been selected to participate in the Lynn Invitational Tournament in August, 2016.
My goal is to help Georgetown win the Div 4 state championship next spring and to play baseball for an excellent academic university.
What sets me apart from other recruits is that I am a student and community volunteer first and an athlete second. My work ethic is unmatched and I help my teams win by being a superb defensive catcher: receiving the ball in a way that gives my pitchers get extra strikes in key counts, throwing out 30-40% of runners, and calling a game based on knowing my pitchers, what they want to throw, and what they are capable of throwing in any count. I am confident at the plate and being a power and good situational hitter helps us win as well. My best attributes are that I listen to my coaches and I love my team and teammates. My job is to lead by example, to fill gaps, and make sure that everyone respects the game.
