Erich Vinacco '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Erich Vinacco and I am going into my senior year at Ashland High School in Ashland, Massachusetts. I was the starting catcher on the varsity baseball team and led my team in almost every offensive category. I was also a top performer in the league and finished the season with a line of .368/.455/.614 and was voted to the Tri-Valley League (TVL) All-Star team. I was most proud of my defense as our team allowed the least number of overall runs and earned runs resulting in the leagues lowest team ERA.

I challenge myself in the classroom as well taking a mix of honors and AP classes. My current GPA is 3.4 unweighted and I am a member of the National Honor Society. I volunteer regularly at numerous town and school programs and was recognized by the Boston Red Sox and have been selected to represent them in their 2017 Lindos Sueños program. I also work in the summers at an outdoor camp teaching elementary age children about nature as well as umpire youth baseball games in the evenings as I am patch Babe Ruth umpire.

During the summer weekends, I play for the East Coast Eagles Baseball showcase team where I am starting my second season on the team. I am the catcher and clean-up hitter where I have been able to help the team make it to several showcase tournament finals.

I am interested in studying film and playing baseball in college and I want to attend a school where I can push myself in the classroom and on the field and be part of a great tradition.
