Being the youngest of five, it was ingrained in me at a young age that everything is a competition. I think that this is an important part of baseball and life. Another important part is enjoying what you do, and nothing is more exciting to me then pitching. I have been training everyday to get better, throw faster, and will do everything I need to do to improve.
I have been playing baseball since I was five years old, I can not imagine life without it. I am very passionate about the sport and love competing in it. I have been a pitcher for the last four years, it is my favorite part of baseball. I have been on competitive travel teams, and started for my high school team as a freshmen.
Even though I love baseball, I understand that academics are also very important. I attend a very academically rigorous private school and I am doing very well in my classes. My GPA and SAT/ACT scores will continue to rise, because my goal is to always improve from the last time. Your academics follow you throughout your life and demonstrate the type of worker you are. I am improving my grades to show that I am a dedicated hard worker.
Attending a leadership school has imprinted on me that leadership is a very important attribute. I believe that good leadership consists of uniting others in a positive way to achieve a goal, and I try to demonstrate this on and off the field. Along with leadership is the statement that the best leaders are also the best followers, so when others are leading or teaching me, I understand that it is vital to listen, take what they are saying, and use it to help myself improve.
Attributes that I demonstrate the most are loyalty, listening to instruction, respect, honor, and courage. I will always put the team first, ahead of my own needs. I understand the challenge of playing at the collegiate level and I am ready to take the challenge. Thank you for looking at my profile and your consideration. I am open to all options of playing baseball in college and would love to hear from you soon.
