As far back as I can remember I have loved baseball. Starting when I was about 3 years old, I would go to the field and watch my dad play softball. I would sit in the dugout the entire time and watch every move that every player would make. I tried to emulate the best players. After their games, the players on my dad's team would pitch to me and play catch with me. They just made me love playing ball even more.
I started tball at 4 years old and played in Little League until I was 12 years old. In my "majors" years (age 9-12) our All-Star team won the District championship all four years and won the Maryland State Championship one year. I also played travel baseball since I was 9 years old. My 13 and 14 year old years my travel team, the West Virginia Wild, won the USSSA Global World Series Championship in Myrtle Beach, SC.
My freshman year of high school I played JV baseball. My sophomore year I was moved up to varsity. I was the only sophomore that was moved to varsity. I was initially suppose to be a designated hitter 2-3 innings each game and provide relief pitching. After about 5 games I was constantly in the hitting line up. I ended the regular season with a .361 batting average. During our State Championship game my sophomore year I hit the game winning RBI to give our team the lead and the win! I finished the playoffs with a .444 batting average.
My goal is to attend a college that will provide me with an opportunity to receive an education that will take me through my adult life. I would like to study Fire Science and be a career firefighter, moving up the ladder to supervisory and administration positions.
My skill at the game would make me an asset to many teams, but my drive, passion and determination to get better every day are my best assets.
I would be honored and humbled to play baseball beyond high school.
