Mitchel Orf '18 Recruiting Profile

I am a college bound baseball player who works hard to be my best on and off the field. That means early days and late nights, and I am ready. The coach that recruits me will not regret it and my future teammates won’t either.  

Although many coaches have tried to recruit me to play football and run track I have stayed true to baseball. I love the game and have since my first year in Little League in Corpus Christi, TX.   My size and speed give me an advantage on the field. And I use the abilities I have been blessed with to be the spark for my team. I am at my strongest as leadoff where I use my speed and determination to get on base, and in the field where I can track down balls and rob the opponent of a hit.  I pride myself in being a well-rounded player. I have a good feel for the ball and have been coached by some of the best and I listen.

 When I am not on the field or at my local baseball club training facility I am at Power House gym. I enjoy hitting the gym so I can increase my physical abilities to help me on the field and help my team win. I meet up with friends there a few days a week but they are not as focused as I am so I go more often to put in my work. My dad always says, “at this stage everyone was the all-star short stop and starting pitcher. You have to work hard to be your best”.

I pride myself in learning and keeping a high GPA. I learned this from my mom and dad who both served in the US Navy and received their degrees while working full time jobs. They push me and my sisters to be the best we possible can at whatever we do regardless of the result.  My college goals are earning a degree in criminology so I can be recruited by the FBI or follow in my parent’s footsteps into the military.  Another interest I have is construction engineering and I feel would be a good mix of office and outside time. Also I hope to make some lifelong friends with my teammates and others.
