I am a student at North Oldham High School which Newsweek recently ranked the 9th best public high school in the country. I love baseball! I want to continue to play baseball and succeed in in college. I am at my best when I am part of a team, on the field, in the classroom and out of school. My best friends and some of my greatest memories have come through baseball. Until around two years ago, I also played basketball and enjoy any competitive sport. Most importantly, I want to receive a quality education so I can have a successful life.
My travel team is Vipers Baseball Club. We have players from the Louisville area and as far as 90 miles away. We face the best teams we can find, including older teams and teams with many future D1 players. We were 6-1 playing older teams last summer. I played with both the class of 2016 and 2017 teams this summer and last year. My high school is North Oldham. I played right, center, and pitched. I was proud to average over 9 Ks a game. I've worked hard on my swing, and that is paying off as I have been winning offensive awards this year and hearing very good feedback from college coaches who like my flat swing and tell me that I will continue to hit in college.
My goal in baseball is to keep playing competitive baseball as long as I can, and I recognize that only happens with hard work. I have learned that success is not an accident, and that most people who seem like and overnight success actually worked very hard for a long time to get what finally came to them. At 5'9", I've also learned that I have to work hard and do something extra in order to stand out. The instructors I have been fortunate to work with have taught me to never rest on success and always look for improvement. I will bring that attitude and determination to any program.
