I started playing "competitive" baseball at the age of 4 with kids much older than myself since there were no teams at that age group. I held my own with these older kids, which made my parents and coaches think I had real potential. In grade school and middle school I played some football and some basketball, but by the time I got to high school I realized that baseball was going to be my one and only sport. The sport that I now live to play almost year round. I can only hope that being a college baseball athlete helps me achieve some of my other life goals.
I would love to receive a great college education, so I can join the workforce upon graduating and be a productive member of society. Along the way, I would love to pitch and play at a competitive baseball program where I can help my team go as far as possible. I look forward to the challenge of having my coaches make me the best player I can be and I'll gladly do my part of being a good, supportive teammate. What sets me apart from your average college baseball athlete, I won't lose sight of the reason I'm there in the first place, to get an education. I'm am also keenly aware that my grades are extremely important and I will have to balance this with a very busy athletic schedule. I look forward to meeting this challenge head on. If I were able to continue a baseball career past my college years, that would be a blessing.
