Personal Statement
My name is Zachary Fried, and I am a junior at Hong Kong International School in Hong Kong. One characteristic that I will bring to any baseball team is hard work. I am always the first player to arrive at the baseball field, and the last one to go home. Also, in the offseason, I work as hard as I possibly can through strength training and conditioning to make myself the best player I can be. Furthermore, I pride myself on my hard work in the classroom. During my first two years of high school, I have achieved an unweighted 3.97 GPA , ACT Composite score of 32 with an ACT Superscore of 33, and am a member and leader of the National Honor Society. As a sophomore, I was playing on my school’s varsity baseball team and principally starting in the outfield in center or left field. During this season, I started at first base or center field had a batting average of .382, an on base percentage of .511, a 0.00 ERA and 10 stolen bases. My team ultimately won our regional tournament and finished second in the Asia Pacific Activities Conference. I hope to find a school where I can continue playing baseball at the varsity level and reach my highest academic potential.
