Personal Statement
My name is Will Butts I have played baseball since I was three years old and played travel since I was eight. I hit, throw, or work on defensive skills at least 6 days a week. This may be at our local training facility or in games or practices. Since I was nine I have taken hitting lessons with a current MLB scout and catching lessons with a former minor league catcher since I was a ten-year-old. On top of this I can work with my dad who was a former catcher at Xavier University.
Because I have been small for my whole life I have had to accept different roles on the teams I have played on. I am willing to play any position the coach or team needs me to play. When playing my teammates first come to me for advice on situations and what to do in those situations. I've always been seen as a defensive leader and overall leader on my teams.
On the academic side I have excelled in school taking high school level courses when I was in middle school and am now taking advanced and high level classes in high school.
My goal is to someday become a leader and elite player for one of the top programs in the country and lead them to a Championship.
