My name is Adam Genners. I live in Jacksonville, Florida and attend Stanton College Prep, an academically excelled high school that is ranked in the top ten public schools, nationally. My goal is to play collegiate baseball at a school where I can receive a valuable education. I have played as a member of the varsity team since I was a freshman, starting eleven games my first year and every game my sophomore year. I throw with my right arm but hit from the left side. Last year, I helped my team capture the district title as well as reaching the regional semifinals, of the “sweet sixteen.” I was selected to the Gateway All-Conference First Team, FACA 6A All-Academic Team, and the Florida Times-Union All-First Coast Third Team. I am a team captain for the 2013 season. The biggest moment that can compare to those achievements was when I hit the winning RBI to beat Tallahassee Leon in the bottom of the 9th inning, during the regional playoffs. I think that coming out of an excelled school such as Stanton College Prep gives me an advantage over others because I have had to balance the rigorous workload given to me in school with baseball and family. Time management is a huge skill to master and is especially useful in college. My dream is to go to college and get a good education while being part of the baseball team. I think that as a baseball player, I have a lot to offer. I am a player that works hard on and off the field, someone who stays after practice to get extra work in or hits in the cage after a game. I want to be the best player I can be and be the best I can be in the role I play to help my team be successful. Every day I look to improve on my weaknesses and to make my strengths even stronger. I want to play at the highest competition I can. Many people have dreams that are impossible and unrealistic. I believe that my dream/goal can be achieved with hard work and effort. I will work as hard as I can to achieve my goal and make my dream a reality.
