My goal is to have the opportunity to play the game that I love, baseball, at the college level in an academic setting that will allow me to further my education to develop the skills necessary both on the field and in the classroom to be successful.
As college coaches, your job is a difficult one to select and invest in a young player with only statistics, video footage and limited conversations. I don’t envy that position. I can tell you that what I bring to any program is a dedication to the hard work necessary to strive for and reach my potential. For example, I wake up every morning at 4:30AM to be able to get to the gym by 5AM to begin training for the day. A morning work out before classes beginning at 8AM is the best motivator for a good day. After school, I participate in an additional baseball specific workout which begins will long tossing, sprints and hitting drills. As my high school coach reminds us every day, Hard Work Beat Talent When Talent Does Not Work Hard. After working out, I hit the books to ensure that I achieve my best results in the classroom.
Playing college baseball is an honor and I believe that one of the key differentiators between me and other recruits is my character, hard work and knowledge that I am a teachable athlete that respects the game of baseball which includes the coaches, umpires; other teams along with understanding the baseball process that includes failures are part of the game. Failures lead to success.
