I have committed to pitch for Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. It is awesome to know where I will be going to school next year, before I start my high school senior year season. It will help me relax, have fun and not have to worry about how someone in the stands might view my results. I'm throwing harder than last year and my control is great, so I'm looking forward to having a great season and helping my team go far.
I'm doing Winter workouts in the weight room, along with some yoga, agility and other pitching specific workouts. I am stronger and more flexible than last year. I'm pretty happy with these improvements. Seeing results motivates me keep working hard to get even better.
Off season pitching work is going great. Velocity is improving with all pitches and my command is even better. My goal for the Winter is to improve the fastball to a consistent 86 to 88 mph, and maybe even touch 90 now and then. The slider, curveball and slider are all breaking like they should, and I'm working on throwing each a little harder.
The had a very good Summer Legion season, and I'm looking forward to my senior season with my High School team. My ERA over the Summer was under 2, and we had a lot of fun playing in tourneys in several States. Augustana was one of the schools talking to me after I posted the video on my profile. I had offers from several schools, but Augustana's coaching staff was the deciding factor for me. Good grades in high school and a good ACT got me enough academic money to make my own choice, instead of having to go to the school that was the cheapest. I'm very happy with my decision.
