Personal Statement

I am a team player on and off the field.  Off the field, I've been tutoring athletes in math and Science since elementary.  Currently, as the president of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA-Carson High), I often deliver presentations that encourage student athletes and others to work hard-smart, stay focus on their goals and maintain excellent grades and integrity. On the field, the following are my contributions:

  • Good hands and excellent foot work
  • Throw from all different arm angles
  • Get rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on throws
  • Lateral movement is easy and smooth
  • Greatest asset is speed offensively and defensively. Above average runner who continues to improve on speed. Best 60 time at 6.9 during Junior Day - Summer 2016

I am a young fire plug, sharp academically and I don't give up.  As a student athlete and team player, I am confident I will make a positive difference with any team.

  • 4 CLASS RATING SS POSITION PROJECTION 03/13/2016 - College PREP - Monterey Park, CA Jordan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with the makings of a special type player on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, a well above average runner at 7.19. In the MIF, defensive abilities are now outstanding, displaying smooth / fluid actions. Feet are athletic as he works around balls and presents glove well out front through a low approach. He moves well laterally, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds/turns of the double play and has big play potential. At the plate, hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball and uses the middle of the field well. Power will increase as he loads more and works more aggressively through the lower half.
  • Camp/Event
  • Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic
  • 12/27/14 to 12/31/14
  • 12/27/2014 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Jordan is a play-maker who brings his all to the field. Offensively, this RHH shows a balanced approach with rhythm to load. He takes a hack, squares the ball up and hits line-drives to all parts of the field. No matter where he hits it, he always hustles down the line running hard 90's through 1B. At SS, Jordan put his athleticism on display. He has quick/fluid actions and moves well laterally to GB's. He his sure handed and gets his mitt on almost everything hit to the left side of the diamond. Continuing to increase his arm strength through a long toss program will only aid in his defense development. This athletic 2017 grad has skills with a bright future ahead of him.

  • On behalf of the Commissioner of Baseball, David L. James, Jordan Edwards, was invited to participate in a Major League Baseball RBI event Winter Meetings.
  • Camp/Event
  • California Select Training & Competition
  • 7/20/14 to 7/24/14
  • 07/20/2014 - California Select Training & Competition Jordan is an athletic SS who will graduate in 2017. In the INF, Jordan has good pre-pitch actions, solid body control, and soft hands. He fields out front, funnels the ball well, and his exchange is clean with the ability to throw from multiple arm angles to his target. Defense can get better if Jordan can play more through, work on his backhand, and quicken his release to his target. Offensively, Jordan has an open stance, good balance, and quick hands to the ball. He has good bat speed, a loose grip, and he stays on top of the baseball. If Jordan can loose his hands, get more extension through the ball, and improve his rhythm, offensive numbers will get even better.
