What makes me stand out in the class room as well as on the field is my personality. The way I act goes a long way. I go after every day as if it is a new challenge. When I first started high school I did my best to have fun while keeping my grades up. My plan was to be the most involved in school as I could. The three things I did to stand out was to get involved, shine, and be a student before athlete.
Being involved in school can help you in many ways. Meeting new people and teachers is a nice thing. What is meant by this is that when you join other sports and clubs you can meet new people and learn new things. What I did for this is I played football, wrestling, and of course baseball. I did all I could to excel in all of these sports. Doing whatever it took to help my team to victory. When it came to baseball I help as many people as I could to not only help them but the team. They would appreciate the help which helped me make new friends. The more people I helped the more they looked up to me, so I pushed myself to be the best I could because I did not want to let them down. I kept striving to do these all the way until my junior year. During football season a horrific event occurred. This seems like it would affect me but surprisingly it made me strong not only physically but emotionally. What happen was I injured my knee during football. It took me out for the rest of football as well as my junior year of baseball. I did everything I could to try to make it back for the last game of the season. I made it but coach wouldn’t let me do it. I was in the training room everyday besides Sunday working on jumping squatting, pivoting, and running. I made sure I was stronger than before. I made it back for the last game cleared and ready to go. Asked my coach if I could play he said he did not want to just throw me in there. So I worked out all summer trying to get even better. This year I have been concentrating on my grades.
They have always been my first priority. I tried to ask question when need and do school to the fullest. I also was in this class/club called AVID. They make you keep a 3.0 or higher. Without the help from my AVID teachers and friends, which I consider my family, I would not be who I am today. To this day we work together to help each other get through the struggle we call life. I try to get into clubs, programs, and the highest level of classes I can handle. Trying to shine to the fullest. I am a great candidate for any college because I do what I can to get myself involved into the school while also keeping good grades and shining.
