I wake up every morning thinking “there could be someone out there working harder than I am.” That is what drives me to wake up at 4:30 in the morning to workout. I go to school and then workout again for a couple of hours after school. My long term goal is to pitch and be a factor at the Major League level. I know there are steps that have to be taken before I get to that point. I heard Derek Jeter once say “there is no excuse for lack of effort.” I do not want the lack of effort to be my excuse for not reaching my ultimate goal. I know that goes for both on the field and in the classroom.
Everyone has someone they look up to or has inspired them to achieve their goals. I have had several up to this point in my life, but my biggest inspiration is my special needs brother Zach. He loves baseball and is my biggest fan. Over the last three years Zach has been battling Leukemia and where ever he goes his baseball stuff goes. As I have watched what Zach has gone through it has inspired me to be the best I can be in whatever I do.
